親愛的川普總統
自從您就任總統以來所施行的政策，對美國、歐洲、中東、朝鮮、南海，無論是經濟、外交或維持區域和平等方面，都展現出亮麗的政績，一直被跨黨派與盟國所肯定。
這些政績當中最亮眼的莫過於對中國經濟政策的修正。從1972年以來的歷任美國總統，一直都採姑息態勢，竭力扶持中國在經濟與科技上的發展，藉以讓中國能因經濟提昇而融入文明的世界體系。然而，建交40年美國的仁慈，換來的是：誠如您在國情咨文演說所指出：中國猖狂科技盜取，與不公平的市場競爭。很神奇的，美國企業外移，失業等，在您上任一年內就杜絕且改善。當下美國蓬勃的經濟，證明您對中國的政策是正確的。最近美國針對華為用其產品進行全面性的間諜工作，所採取強硬態度，更是值得誇獎。
但北京近來不但對台灣各種侵門踏戶的動作，例如到處飄揚五星旗，破壞社會秩序，讓台灣非常不安定。即使連AIT高雄辦公室出面呼籲的地方選舉，也被北京佈署的策略打敗。我們非常擔心，以美國的紳士風度是不足阻擋北京以流氓之舉侵略台灣，改變現狀的。
我們渴望川普總統您能儘快採取如同遏止北京對美國經濟傷害的強硬反制方法，支持台灣，這才足於維持西太平洋社區的秩序。因此我們提出建議，誠如華盛頓郵報所指出，請您以美國總統的權位發佈行政命令，使美國和台灣即刻建立完全的外交關係，互換大使；同時，促使台灣正式負起印太防衛的重要角色。
如此不僅能減輕美國防衛成本的負擔，更能遏止專制暴力繼續破壞現代民主自由貿易制度，也才能穩定保障西太平洋的美國核心利益，徹底杜絕中國共產黨侵蝕，使台灣免於成為繁榮及和平之弧的破口。
正如川普總統你主動與台灣總統電話通訊，不但是打破過去白宮主人的傳統，讓世界效仿；美國如此做之後，世界各國也必定相繼仿效和台灣建立正式外交關係。北京再也無法續用龐大市場誘因，號令各國停止對台灣友善的行動。
我們不是中國人，更不是共產黨。台灣住民愛民主，愛自由，與美國人民擁有相同的價值觀，沒理由讓台灣被孤立在自由世界之外。台灣被孤立，也是美國防堵中國的最大缺口。川普總統沒有理由讓這矛盾持續存在。

Open letter to President Trump

Dear President Trump
Since you took over the oval office, policies you have
implemented regarding economic recovery in the US, as well as international
issues for areas in the Middle East, North Korea and the South China Sea, have
been affirmed by all allies, shown great vigour, and won bipartisan cooperation.
Of all these brilliant successes, the most impressive
achievement is that you have called an end to the unfair trade deals with
China. The trade relationship with China
practiced by all precedes presidents since 1972 was based on the good will for
pulling up the Chinese economy so that China can play the vital role as a major
contributor to the world peace and prosperity.
However, such a good intention has brought intolerable results.
As you pointed out in the State of Union, “After years of
targeting our industries, and stealing our intellectual property, the theft of
American jobs and wealth has come to an end.” the current booming economy in
the United States proves that your policy toward China is absolutely
correct. In the recent case of Huawei’s
comprehensive spying products, your tough position is certainly worthy and
merits praise.
Nevertheless, what worry the most for people in Taiwan are
Beijing’s recent aggressive actions, ranging from military threatening drills
surrounding Formosa, to various intrusions such as flying PRC flags everywhere
in urban areas so as to upset the social order, as well as explicitly
intervening in the local election despite of warning from the AIT Kaohsiung
office. Purposes of these maneuver
deployed by Beijing are to create an unsettled environment with tremendous
uneasiness to the peaceful civilian life, and thus, the status quo can be
disturbed.
Just as in the case of curbing Beijing’s damage to the US
economy, people in Taiwan urge you to take a tough counter-measure to stop any
threatening to Taiwan. We, therefore, keenly appreciate you, as pointed
out in the Washington Post, to issue an executive order to immediately
establish a full diplomatic relation and exchange ambassadors between Taiwan and
the United States.
Normalization between Taiwan and the US will definitely be a
guarantee not only sufficiently maintaining the current peaceful order in the
western Pacific community, but also officially assuming Taiwan’s important role
in the Indo-Pacific defense community such that the burden of US defense cost
can be reduced accordingly.
In this region, any Chinese military threatening to
undermine the modern democratic practice or any economic manipulation from
Beijing to deteriorate the free market system can subsequently be stopped. It will also stabilize the Southern China Sea
community, and secure the US core interests in this area. Moreover, any further threatening towards the
peaceful life and properties of people on Taiwan from Chinese communists can
therefore be completely wiped out.
In the initiation of making a phone call to the President of
Taiwan, Dr, Tsai Ing-wen, you not only
went beyond the convention previously set up by many White House masters, but
also put out a track for the world to follow. Similarly, once the US
establishes a formal relation with Taiwan, countries of the world for certain
will be subsequent to the course as well.
Chinese government can no long manipulate the world to stop friendly
actions toward Taiwan in exchange of the privileges of getting access to the
massive Chinese market camouflaged by the huge Chinese population.
We are neither Chinese nor communist. The people of Taiwan
love democracy, freedom, and have the same values as the American people.
There is no reason for Taiwan to be isolated from the international arena.
Without statehood, Taiwan will always be kept out from the international
arenas, which is the biggest loophole in the status quo to prevent the Pacific
region from Chinese hostile harassment.
Should Beijing take over Taiwan, it means the end of the American interest
in the western Pacific region. We
believe that, President Trump, you have no reason to let this contradiction
persist.
